A Reading from the Gospel of Matthew (21:28ff)
“What is your opinion ? A parent had two children. They came to the first and said, ‘My child go out and work in the vineyard today.’ They said in reply, ‘I will not,’ but afterwards they changed their mind and went. The parent came to the other child and gave the same order. They said in reply, ‘Yes’ , but did not go. Which of the two did their parents will ? ” They answered, ” The first. ”
